Nefertari Offering To Isis

Papyrus 736

Papyrus width: 17" height: 13", Papyrus Art width: 12" height: 8 3/4" Hand painted and signed on aged papyrus. A rather stylized representation in the tomb of Nefertari depicting her making an offering of wine to the goddess, Hathor. Nefertari, on the right, wears a white gown in the original scene. The offering is actually being made to Serket and Ma'at as well, who in the original scene sit behind Hathor. Hathor offers Nefertari life in the form of an ankhn. Also, in the original scene, Nefertari does not wear the tall plumes that mount her crown, though in an extremely similar scene within the tomb, she does.
