This papyrus visually depicts the biblical passage from John 11:2. "(It was [that] Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)". This particular papyrus, though beautifully rendered, lacks any characteristics of ancient icons and so is probably a modern composition not duplicating any ancient scene.
